The Antique Boat Museum |

The Antique Boat Museum is America's
freshwater boating museum. There are other marine museums on freshwater, even a few that
pay attention to recreational boats and boating; but the Clayton museum is pretty much the
largest and most impressive collection of inland recreational boats in the world, larger
than similar collections in England, Italy, Switzerland and elsewhere in the United
States. A wonderful place to snoop around, this former lumberyard on the Clayton
waterfront is a mixed bag of sheds and buildings full of surprises, and - for visitors who
grew up on a lake or river - full of nostalgia. The Antique Boat Museum 750 Mary Street , Clayton, New York 13624 315-686-4104 Fax 315-686-2775 |

Thousand Islands Museum in the Town Hall/Opera House built in 1903. The turn of the century exhibits display life along the St. Lawrence River and the Thousand Islands. A replica of the World Record Muskie is on exhibit along with the Best of Show Decoys from the Decoy & Wildlife Art Show. The Town Hall/Opera House has a "raked" stage reminiscent of a by gone era. History programs, live performances and historical artifacts make this turn of the century museum a place "where history continues".
