Dwight D. Eisenhower Locks
St. Lawrence-FDR Power Project

           Dwight D. Eisenhower Locks,
located in Massena, afford thrilling opportunities for visitors at the lock overlook to watch "Upper Lakers" (fresh-water  ships) and "Salties" (ocean-going cargo ships), flying flags of many nations, transit the Wiley-Dondero Shipping Channel. Part of the St. Lawrence Seaway System the locks allow the ships to pass through by raising or lowering the water level to meet the need of each vessel.
